  • Offerings

Was scheduled to share before the collection of offerings today. Had been thinking over the week on what to share about. So happens that this few weeks i have been reading the book of numbers from the bible in which offerings are burnt sacrifices to which people use to please God mostly after they sinned or became unclean.
Got me thinking...Thank God Jesus came or we would have worse air pollution now

Jokes aside, for those who knows our church, we call offering time investment time. I thought about it, and well it does make some sense coz we give to God and he does bless us in return right? but what if he doesnt? does it mean that this investment gone bad? is it like that of any secular investments in which when the investment gone bad, it means we really loose everything we invested into? Thank God it is not so for the Kingdom of God!!

Investing in the kingdom of God would be just like our parents investing into our lives. Of course they expect you to take care of them when they grow old...but still it is a risky investment because it is really unpredictable. My mom kind of  helped me to link this together, its kind of cool how God is able to use everyday experiences to help us realize what he wants to tell us. This comes at a cool timing coz just yesterday, i was telling my mom i'm gonna keep a container with all my loose change in it so to save up every cent that none of it will go to waste (as now the fuel price hike, every cent counts..) Well my mom immediately took out her coin purse and started putting it into my container. I asked her what was she doing, and she replied, "I'm investing into your life. You can repay me when you're older." Then i asked what if i dont repay you? She replied" Then God will provide."

A lot of times we give and expect God to bless us back in tens of folds or thousands of folds, but most of the time, the question is not if we should invest or not, but how much we are willing to invest. Its like our parents, what would we be like if they did not invest in our lives at all coz they're afraid that there will be no surplus to the investment? Where would we be? I sure am glad that my parents invested in me well.

how much are you willing to invest into the kingdom of God?
